CALL FOR APPLICATION – SECOND WORLD CULTURAL HERITAGE YOUTH SYMPOSIUM

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Hellenic Republic and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, with support from the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC), the International Olympic Academy, the European Parliament Information Office in Greece and the Hellenic Association of Political Scientists, the 2nd Annual World Cultural Heritage Youth Symposium will be held from 10th – 14th April, 2019, on the occasion of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, Ancient Olympia, Greece.

The Symposium is a contribution to promote the Sustainable Development Goals: “Education 2030”, focussing on SDG 4.7 and as SDG17.

AIM:

• To give students the chance to present their countries’ culture (the tangible and intangible heritage, expose their ideas and turn cultural diversity into a power for peace, security and development for all.
• To help students meet and understand different cultures and acknowledge the importance of World Cultural Heritage.
• To bring students from all over the world in contact with the ancient Greek culture and civilization.

Who can apply?

Applications are invited from teachers and students (older than 12 years – 7th Grade) from:

• Schools (Junior and Senior High Schools)
• Universities
• Educational or cultural organizations and associations from all around the world

All participants will receive a participation certificate signed by the President of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO and the Organizers.

Deadline

The participation forms must be completed and sent not later than the 15th of January, 2019. However, since the number of participants is limited, no further applications will be accepted when the 350^th participant register.
