CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Interactions between the oceans and human health are numerous, complex and yet largely unknown to most of the public, stakeholders and the scientific community.

That is why, the Scientific Center of Monaco (CSM), the Principality of Monaco’s scientific research agency, and the Prince Albert II Foundation will organize an International Scientific Symposium « Human Health and the Ocean in a Changing World », from the 2^nd to the 4^th of December 2020, in Monaco (One Monte Carlo Conference Centre), under the patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and in partnership with many International Institutions and Stakeholders (WHO, CNRS, Boston College, Scripps Institute, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution,…).

This symposium will highlight the risks that the oceans can represent for human health, and their increase due to environmental changes (emergence of new marine pathogens, contamination of seafood, various types of pollution, etc…) but also the benefits that they will continue to bring to human health.

We are expecting 200 to 250 people to attend the symposium and we want the symposium to be addressed to scientists/researchers/physicians, but journalists, policy makers and other stakeholders (international organisations, NGOs,…) will also be present.

The Human Health and the Ocean in a changing world symposium will include keynotes and mini-reviews, but also open communications and poster presentations we would like you to submit to the Scientific Committee

The conference is multidisciplinary and we encourage abstracts submitted from every fields or disciplines, as long as they have a connection with human health, e.g. harmful algal blooms, waterborne diseases, benefits of outdoor blue spaces to health and well-being, climate change, ocean pollution, marine natural products, aquatic animal models, marine food resources, blue technologies, …
