We are proud to announce our partnership with the Ghana Commission for UNESCO, in recognition of our impact and approach in Ghanaian schools.
We are currently seeking funding to expand our programme to a full year of academic support for children in Junior High School 1, in order to give these pupils the skills and confidence they need to become the problem solvers of tomorrow. Our programme will fully align with the Ghanaian curriculum for maths for the targeted grade as published by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA). This partnership will also enable us to certify our materials with the NaCCA, which would make our resources available to all teachers in Ghana.
Whilst our current programme has already been shown to improve pupil’s ability in maths by 2.5 years on average, over just one school term, our next phase of programmes will have the following benefits:
a full year of academic intervention for pupils and teachers;
a greater level of support for teachers including personalised support over the year from a Ghanaian coordinator;
accreditation from NaCCA and alignment with the Ghanaian math curriculum;
collaborative research that can improve the programme even further and benefit educators outside the programme;
real-world activities that bring our project-based approach to the next level.
The map below shows the region, within the red line, that we would work within, around Accra.
Not only will this programme bring significant educational impact to the children involved, it will also lay the foundations for a transformative new approach to education in Ghana, that has the potential to change the lives of children across the country and even abroad.
