The 210th Session of the Executive Board was held from 2nd – 10th December, 2020 on a Zoom platform with a corresponding webcast.
Ghana participated in the Session with the Chief Director & Vice Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Benjamin K. Gyasi, leading Ghana’s Delegation on behalf of the Ghana’s Representative on the Board, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
Ghana took the floor in the afternoon of 2nd December to deliver her statement, calling for the rethinking of strategies and renewal of commitments and approaches towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ghana expressed her full support to the complete alignment of UNESCO’s Medium-Term Strategy to the 2030 Agenda. Ghana endorsed the re-election of the Director-General, Madam Audrey Azoulay, for a second term. Ghana further shared some interventions the Government of Ghana had made during the global health crisis in order to continue, as much as possible, to keep education on its current pedestal.
