International Youth Day gives an opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal and equitable engagement.
This year the TECHFARM Hub has introduced the Ghana Youth Innovation Accelerator (GYIA) Hack as a tailored hackathon strategy in collaboration with the Ghana Commission for UNESCO and MTN Ghana Foundation with support from the National Youth Authority (NYA), Melton Foundation, Youth Advocates Ghana, the United Nations Youth Association Ghana (UNYA-GH), Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC) , FAPIMA Foundation and other partners to commemorate the2021 International Youth Day in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
GYIA Hack 2021 is a 24-hour sprint-like minds-on, hands-on and hearts-on prototyping hackathon opportunity for young (between 15 and 35 years) Ghanaian innovators, entrepreneurs, agripreneurs and startups to “hack” i.e play around with Coding, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IOT) and Robotics and present optimal innovative digital solutions which demonstrate impact or has the potential to impact People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnerships and at scale-up can become productive, profitable and promote the Sustainable Development Goals 4, 7, 9, 12 & 17 across the Regions of Ghana. Through a competitive selection process at the end of the hackathon, six outstanding innovative solutions will be selected as winners and presented with award packages.
