Today, the Ghana Commission for UNESCO joined the Imagining Ghanaian Futures team at the maiden exhibition of Ga-Mashie Boxing Heritage. Hon. Fritz Baffour, former Minister for Information officially opened the exhibition on Ga-Mashie Boxing Heritage at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra.

The exhibition is a nine-day exhibition showcasing objects, sound, audio-visuals, performances, and textual narratives that vivify boxing beyond its recreational, commercial value as means by which life is negotiated and transformed positively in the Ga-Mashie community.

The Secretary-General of the Ghana Commission for UNESCO gave a goodwill message and supported the initiative. In her statement, she spoke about how the exhibition is not just a walk down memory lane but is also a very insightful exhibition that will teach a lot. She ended her statement by congratulating the team on the good work done.

Also present to grace the occasion were representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Commission on Culture, the Executive Director of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Director of the Ghana Boxing Federation, and a representative from the Ghana Boxing Authority. Not forgetting the Kolomashie Music from the Favours Band and students from the Jamestown community.
