TEAM IDEA
“Agro Sourcing Limited is working to curtail agricultural wastage through inclusive, circular and efficient supply chain systems. We have developed a cloud based agricultural resource management platform that allows data controllers to identify and precisely capture data on value chain actors and their production/ waste generation activities in order to facilitate stakeholder linkages, increase market opportunity and build efficiency into agricultural logistics.”
WHICH SDG DOES IT SATISFY?
“SDG 9, SDG 12”
WHAT CHALLENGE/PROBLEM DOES IT ADDRESS
“Over 800 million Smallholder farmers globally are being excluded from the digital, financial and global trade economies due to the very informal nature of their operations.
Very high post-harvest losses are recorded by these smallholder farmers in most Sub-Saharan African countries like Ghana, arising mainly from inefficient, non-inclusive supply chain systems.
Collecting and managing agricultural data is expensive due to its volume and variability. Although, data has become the cornerstone for effective decision making in many contexts, Agricultural Data Controllers have a challenge accessing easy to use, cost efficient, and interoperable platforms to create and share insight which can lead to increasing market opportunities and build stakeholder collaborations.”
