A delegation from The Gambian Government called on the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Commission for UNESCO on Tuesday, 1st February 2022 in Accra.
The purpose of the visit was to study how the Ministry and United Nations Agencies relate and work together, discuss bilateral relations between Ghana and The Gambia, particularly in the field of education, and how Ghana has represented the education sphere across the world.
The Chief Director for Education at the Ministry of Education outlined how effectively the Government and the Ministry have been working with UN agencies.
The Secretary-General for the Ghana Commission for UNESCO informed the delegation on how the Commission works with UN Agencies, and how we help the Government and the Ministry respond to information and issues that are addressed to them especially with capacity building.
It was a fruitful discussion, and we look forward to even stronger cooperation between Ghana and The Gambia.
The meeting was attended by the MOE’s AG. Chief Director for Education, Mr. Divine Ayidzoe, GCU’s Secretary-General, Ama Serwah Nerquaye-Tetteh, GCU officers, MoE directors, Ministry of Finance members, the Head of Civil Service, and other dignitaries.
