Inauguration of the Maiden Ghana Heritage Committee On the 22nd and 23rd September, the Ghana commission for UNESCO in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture organized a training workshop and inaugurated the Ghana Heritage Committee. The Ghana Heritage Committee was inaugurated by Hon. Akosua Osei Frema Opare, Chief of Staff with the support of Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister for Education and Chairman of the Ghana Commission for UNESCO and Mr Abdourahamane Diallo, Country Director for UNESCO. The Ghana Heritage Committee the first of its kind in the Sub-region will among others provide technical advice and strategies to the Government of Ghana and other stakeholders for the Protection, Safeguarding and Promotion of the country’s priceless cultural and natural heritage properties.
