On the 10th and 11th of October the Ghana National Commission for UNESCO in collaboration with the UNESCO Office in Accra organized a regional conference where participants as well as experts across the countries in the continent gathered to brainstorm on the relevance of governance of diversity. The conference emphasized that good governance of diversity is indispensable in creating a society where citizens are respected and acknowledged based on their cultural identity and is critical for socio-economic transformation and sustainable development of African countries. The Conference further made a clarion call on leaders in Africa to make policies that will promote cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and peaceful cohabitation.
