UNESCO EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO GHANA ON APIATE DISASTER

UNESCO Representative to Ghana, Mr. Abdourahamane Diallo has written to express the UN Agency’s condolences to Ghana and particularly to the residents of Apiate, near Bogoso in Ghana’s Western Region following the explosion that occurred in the village, wiping out an entire section of the village and claiming many lives and property.
In the statement, he underlined that UNESCO in partnership with other UN organizations in Ghana, UNESCO will assist with the immediate response, as well as support affected communities and future reconstruction. He wished those who have been injured a speedy recovery.
